The beginning of my fitness video logs:

I followed the youtuber Christian Guzman for a few years before I finally built myself up to actually do it. So here's the first of many (hopefully) let me know what you think and if you have any tips on how I could make it better feel free to let me know, I'm still new to this!

Does Whey Protein Work?

I've always wondered the effects Whey Protein had on the body, and after some research I found some interesting information. Let me know what you think!

Whey Protein is a health supplement with large amounts high-quality protein. This being said, most health organizations say that although Whey has lots or protein it'd be better if given the chance to get your protein from food. Good sources of protein/amino acids can be found in foods such as Meat, chicken, fish, legumes, tofu, eggs, nuts, seeds, and milk. A good idea would be to use both to reach your macronutrient requirements more easily.

Past studies have proved that taking whey protein supplements before or after a workout can improve muscle strength, lean-muscle growth, and immunity. Along with those benefits, protein supplements reduce muscle soreness and joint problems which are definitely common amongst people who workout or who are physically active.

Out of other protein supplements, whey protein has shown to increase more muscle mass opposed to supplements like soy protein or carbohydrate supplements.

The amino acids in Whey protein can also have shown to help with fighting diseases such as HIV, Liver Disease, Diabetes, along with many types of cancer. The reason Whey helps with these is because Whey protein is very high in an amino acid called cysteine. Cysteine is an amino acid which can be broken down into a powerful antioxidant called glutathione which is what helps fight these diseases.

So overall, it's safe to say that Whey Protein not only works but also help you in more ways than to just build muscle. Needless to say, you still shouldn't cut out protein from food but a combination of both could definitely be beneficial.
